Newport Community Mental Health Center, is a 501 (c)(3)
non-profit organization does welcome and appreciate donations. Quite
often, available funding does not match up with the need for
services. In some cases, funding sources have been allocating the
same amount of money for 10 years and more. It is always a challenge
to meet the demand, so any contribution that can be made is most
helpful.
In the past, the variety and significance of contributions have
been varied. Donations of soil, mulch and plants
allowed our Freedom Apartment residents to beautify their apartment
community. The experience was not only therapeutic but gave these
individuals a sense of pride in their work. Another donation
consisted of music festival tickets exposing several residential
program clients to the richness and diversity of the arts as well as
providing a sense of community. Children participating in our
Therapeutic Learning Center enjoyed trips to the Rogers Williams Zoo
this summer. The sense of discovery and delight these children
experienced happened only through the generosity of tickets donated.
It is through the kindness and conscientiousness of people in our
community that bring such life experiences to the clients that NCCMHC serves.
NCCMHC staff and clients thank all those who have donated in the
past, and invite those who are thinking of donating, to please
consider making a difference to residents of our community by making
a donation to NCCMHC.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
NCCMHC is always looking for caring, compassionate and professional
individuals who would like to donate their time and expertise to any
one of our programs. We are currently searching for volunteers to
offer any amount of time to our Administrative Program where people
are needed in our Health Information division to assemble or file
records while providing additional clerical support, as needed.
Volunteer opportunities are also available in our Children’s Program
working with small children providing play, floor-time and
assistance to Case Managers, as needed.
